Ringing in the New Year with Holiday Cheer

When you think about everything that goes hand in hand with the holiday season, one of the first things that comes to mind is music. However you celebrate, whatever your background, this time of year always comes with a soundtrack, and it was beautiful to see the Shore community come together at our 2024 Winter Concert to recognize the many holidays our community members celebrate.

The program kicked off with the lively Frosty Hand Jive, performed by our Lower School students. The fun energy of the piece bounced around the room, bringing smiles to the audience and setting the stage for a remarkable show full of wonder and holiday cheer. While our Lower School students brought laughter and light-hearted joy to the Trustey Family Theatre, our Upper School students awed the crowd by delving deep into their own personal talents and were often greeted with thunderous applause at the conclusion of their intricate and detailed performances. Shore A Cappella shined, with their rendition of Snowy Day captivating the audience, Grade Six showcased their diligent work on the chimes with breathtaking performances of Reverie and At Dawn, and Grades Three and Four stole the show with a lively performance of GRINCH! The marimba ensemble, the chamber ensemble, and the Grade Eight Quintet of Emma B., Madeline C., Petra E., Makaylie O., and Brynley R. were all highlights that resonated with the assembled audience.

It was an exceptional performance by students of all ages. At Shore, we are fortunate to have such a robust music program that cultivates creativity and further inspires our many students and faculty involved in the arts, and their hard work and talent combined bring a wonderful depth and a sense of professionalism to our performances. Thank you to Lower School Music Teacher Alexandra Asacker, Upper School Music Teacher Jennifer Boyum, and SEA Shore Music Coordinator, String Instructor, and Chamber Ensemble Conductor Joanne Tedesco for all of your hard work in putting this together!
