The Magic ofTheater

Shore believes that theater cultivates empathy, performance skills, and confidence in children. Our drama program teaches all the skills necessary to be a creative and critical thinker in the 21st century, and the magic of theater is accessible to every Shore student. From Pre-K classroom plays to Advanced Theater Arts in ninth grade, every student has the opportunity to learn about themselves and the world around them through theater.

SARAH CARLIN, DRAMA TEACHER

There is nothing braver than putting yourself on stage in front of your peers. Our students do it every day and are fully supported by their classmates. It’s inspiring to see students gain confidence before your eyes.
From fifth grade to ninth grade, drama class is a part of every child’s experience at Shore. Through creative movement, cooperative games, and acting exercises, students learn how to access their imaginations, collaborate creatively, and discover the confidence to express themselves in front of others.

In the state-of-the-art Trustey Family Theatre, students have the chance to be a part of a full theatrical production, either as a performer on stage or as an essential crew member behind the scenes. Our mainstage musical and our ninth grade one-act plays have won regional awards for their high quality production and student acting.
