Boston Children's Theatre Summer Performances Begin

Shore's state-of-the-art Theatre and rehearsal spaces throughout the Center for Creativity have served as home for Boston Children's Theatre (BCT) summer workshops for students ranging from age four to 19. Beginning July 23, BCT presents a series of musicals in the Theatre. Tickets are on sale now.

Featuring students from BCT’s pre-professional Summer Studios 3 program, Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr. is the story of a small-town girl who follows her dreams to the big city, where she finds romance, adventure and above all, fun. The show will have audiences dancing in the aisles!

  • Saturday, July 25 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm 
  • Sunday, July 26 at 2 pm and 7:00 pm 

Students in BCT’s pre-professional Summer Studios 4 program bring the high octane musical Thoroughly Modern Millie to life on stage with fantastic dance numbers, soaring vocals and signature BCT energy and professionalism!

The Stephen Sondheim musical Assassins, presented by students in Summer Studios 4, tells the story of nine individuals who assassinated or tried to assassinate the President of the United States. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, writers Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman take audiences on a roller coaster ride in which assassins and would-be assassins from different historical periods meet, interact and inspire each other to harrowing acts in the name of the American Dream.

    • The cast of Thoroughly Modern Millie includes several Shore alumni.

    • Students rehearse.

    • Broadway star Matthew James Thomas taught a master class for workshop students. Thomas starred in “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” and the American Repertory Theater production of “Pippin” that went on to Broadway.
