A Win at Manchester-Essex

The two teams tied the game earlier this season and Shore looked forward to playing on their turf field. Again, Shore was short on players so Manchester-Essex kindly agreed to play 7v7. This was great but playing on a full field with so few players can be challenging. Shore was up to the challenge! Playing their best field hockey to date, Shore demonstrated improved passing and communication with a highlight being a pass from Rory to Anne and back to Rory who cruised in to take a shot on goal. Sofia, Addy, and Ceci stood out both offensively and defensively making one big play after another. Allie patrolled the right wing position and popped back up after each fall to the turf. Freyja made the plays when the team needed her most while Liana stood out with important keeper saves. The game was tied at zero through three quarters. With so much great play, Shore could feel good about the game but Rory's goal with four minutes remaining in the game, made everyone feel a lot better. Shore was not to be denied this victory as they gave it all they had in the final few minutes to secure the win. Next week, the field hockey team will close out the season with a game at Fay.
